Can anyone recommend an honest dealer in the Las Vegas area? Our company is opening a Nevada office; a good opportunity to order an HO. I'd like to find a dealer (and salesperson)that will give me a good price and not play games. Thanks for your help.

How about in NC? (Raleigh area) Just got the OK from the bride to buy a new CTD. Haved really missed my 97 CC 4x4 5spd CTD since selling it in 99 on account of receiving company truck. Can not wait to hear the turbo talk back to me again. After test drive at local dealer very impressed with new engine. (HO 6-sp) Very unimpressed with fact that dealer only wanted to come off of sticker $2000 rebate. :)

Yeah, that dealer should have given you the truck for half price! Who is he to want a paycheck?! I'm gonna start putting in counter offers on groceries and other goods, if this works in the dealership it should work elsewhere, right?

Dude, you are out of hand again!! If the dealer wants to make 5000 on a single truck fine. If he wants to make 2000 fine. The guy that asked the question is totally in line asking where he can buy one cheaper.

The dealers that make 5000 per vehicle are NOT interested in relationships and service, otherwise they would not look for the whole wad up front. The poster is SMART for not biting that hook. A dealer that wants a relationship is going to charge a little less and provide service to keep you coming back.

Crusade for the poor poor dealers somewhere else, or at least show up with an aurgument that MIGHT hold water.

We shall have to politely agree to disagree. What exactly then is the purpose of putting a price on things? What if the dealer that discounts least also happens to have the best service department?

What are the odds that is going to happen? Sales is sales across the board. I have worked in sales organizations, much like a dealership, all my adult life. I have not seen it yet in my business or cars, or any other dealings, that the dealer that charges the most provides the best service. The guy that provides the best service is the one that works with you from the first instant contact is made, and he is the last guy that tells you to pack sand because you pay his price or else.

The guys that will be the most successful in the end, and the most pleasant to deal with along the way, are the ones that form relationships with the customers. They provide product at reasonable prices and service it well. They rely on you coming back for the next meal, not on sticking you for a months worth of groceries each time they see you.

check out in Pahrump, NV. and see the dealer there. they hosted the May Maddness '02 event.

i bet you will get a real good deal.

Parcher, you can pay what you want for a vehicle. Pardon me for not being thrilled about paying effectively the sticker price minus the $2000 rebate that Dodge is offering. If you paid sticker, then I would believe you are certainly in the minority of buyers. Just trying to use the TDR for what it is, a very effective resource.

people actually pay the sticker price for vehicles. That would kill a person. :{ :{ :{ :{ Why not negotiate with them about the price. After all if the sticker was just exactly what they had to have to survive that wouldn't be so bad. However, most people that have bought basically any larger purchases now that the markup on some products is basically about 15 percent. They can survive on less by the time they stick you with the labor and parts bill later on if you aren't your own warranty station.

First, in answer to the post (at least partially), my dealer is Batesville Dodge in Batesville, Indiana. They are a five-star dealership, and they deserve every star. I know that it's no where near Las Vegas, but someone else may be interested.

No, they didn't charge me sticker price, but I paid more than invoice price. Yes, they have an excellent service department as well as parts people who know what they are doing.

Negotiating prices on various items is a cultural phenomenon. In the U. S. we negotiate on real estate and vehicles, but not on groceries or alkaline batteries. In Singapore, you can negotiate on alkaline batteries. (I don't know about groceries. )

If someone doesn't want to play the negotiation game, that's fine, but that person can expect to pay more than necessary. If that's okay with them, then it's no business of mine. We all realize that sometimes supporting the small business instead of Walmart (or its equivalent) is to our own advantage, even though we may pay a bit more now and then. It's our money and we get to make our own choices on how to spend it.

Well, at least we get to make our own choices on how to spend the half that the government lets us keep... but that's a different issue.

Guys, I'm not against a discount here! What bothers me is the assumption that the dealer is making 15% on new vehicle sales..... NOT TRUE. The average return on investment in new vehicle inventory is ONE PERCENT. The fact is I bought my CTD used with 6,643 miles on it. I saved $9. 440. 00 off the sticker price. How do we play the game? Does the buyer ask for the best price and then keep beating the seller up for more? SEEMS LIKE IT! Keep the jabs coming, I can take it.

OFF STICKER

I am selling trucks at TDR Discount prices, I will be happy to help you. e-mail me -- email address removed --, or call me toll free I will tell you what is and is not a good deal, I have sold many trucks to TDR Fellow members.

I try hard not to fall into the STEALER category!

:)

Thanks

Observe the "Actual" dealers invoice and their sticker price. When I was negotiating the deal on my truck the salesman started dropping the price of the vehicle as we spoke, with out me haggling. I ended up at $ 200. 00 below dealer invoice ( with all the rebates they offered ) the salesman stated theres also a "reserve" or "kickback" that the factory gives the dealership as well. My dealer is a 5 star dealer, they do all the service work to my truck as well, They can be trusted. * Arrigo Dodge *
