2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dealer says i need a Steering Rack? Any clue on what it is?

Hey guys, Got a little over 97,000 on the truck and having a few things checked out before the warranty runs out. Dealer said i need ball joints which is covered under warranty but i also need a steering rack which is not covered under warranty. What is the Steering rack? I now the truck has drag link, pitman arm, tie rod end, and tie rod but what the heck the the steering rack? Also instead of having them do it, is it something i can so or is there a better one another company makes.



Any help will be appreciated.

There is no steering rack on your truck, you have a steering box. You need to find out exactly what they say you need to replace or have rebuilt, if anything at all.
