Help!

My check engine light came on today and I went to te dealer who claimed the Crankshaft Position Sensor code (P0336) was caused by the DEI remote start intalled by cartoys. Dealer charged me a 89. 00 diag fee for non-warranty problem. The remote start was installed the week I bought th truck about 6 months ago and this is the first code captured by the ECU.

Went to Cartoys and they removed the tap so the CPS is now isolated from the remote start, still have the code. No they say the tap caused the sensor to fail and wont warranty that either... Does this sound fair? What can I do? Any Ideas? Thanks.

no way. That is a input only wire. They will have to prove it to me that a tap can cause this to happen. The sensor is only like 75 dollars. Where are you located. The only way this is possible is if the wire got grounded out.

Im in Plano, Texas. CarToys said a small amount of tape from the insulation on their tap was off and a small amount of conductor could be seen.

Classic example of big boy (DC) beating up on little boy (owner) then the kid watching (CarToys) takes the blame. Stinks to the high heavens . . .
