 Much like the warranty post below, I just received a letter from my selling dealer that my truck is due for service. I purchased Dec 1st... and they go on to basically threaten me and tell me that if I don't have my truck serviced as per the owners manual my warranty will be null and void. Of course they warn of After market replacement service parts and I MUST, absolutely MUST return it to their dealership for service to be done my the professionals who know my truck best... Same dealership who had no clue about the difference between the 5. 9 and 6. 7 litre Engine..... Atleast the saleman admitted it and made a good deal...

I do most of my service myself. And on the advice of others here, I keep receipts of parts I purchase ( Filters, oil, etc) in a nice binder with a log book of mileages and services performed... :-laf

Of course what you didnt know is that the dealer installed a locking oil drain plug and filter so you really MUST return to them for service since they have the only key! :-laf

it works both ways, I have a lock I can put on my OBDC port :)

I ALMOST installed the drain plug from genos that has the lever/drain on it, but chickened out. Wasn't sure how TIGHT to make it or how you would snug it down like the stock plug. . ALso, I read a post about what would happen if Road Debris hit it and broke it off... Want to keep it stock for a while...

I have two of these with over 200k miles on them (combined)... I drive everywhere and have ahd no issues with the Fumoto Plugs...

They come with a replacement sealing washer that doesn't loosen up. I have never needed to retighten either of the plugs, nor have I had road debris cause an issue (I would assume that if road debris would hit hard enough to damage the plug, you have more to worry about)...
