I've checked the local dealer and I can get high book for my truck, $1000 rebate, and that's about it. Is anyone getting their dealer to cut into the four to five thou. markup and still getting decent money for the trade-in?? Thanks, Doc
I went to three dealers when I bought mine. Two offered invoice price and the third was $100. 00 over. The trade in needs to be able to make them about $2000. 00 after they clean and fix it up. Even at invoice they get a 35 hold back from DC. My truck was an order as well. They get 60 days interest paid on all of their vehicles. Mine goes out the door soon after arriving and that interest that DC gives them (floor plan) can go toward something that does not move so fast.
You can not expect retail trade price and wholesale new truck price. But on the other hand, do not let them get your trade at wholesale and then charge sticker on your new one. The need about $2500 to $3500. 00 gross profit in the new and trade combined to make it worth it IMO.
