I have a customer with a 1997 RAM 2500 srw and just lately it has started to go into a serious wobble when you are slowing down. We have replaced every front end and brake component and it still does it. It is too dangerous to drive. Has anyone experienced this problem or do you know of a fix. My customer is planning a trip to Alaska towing a fifth wheel and right now it's not looking good with this Death wobble. If any one can help we would greatlt appreciate it.

Do a search and you'll have several hours of reading. The upshot is (IMO anyway) that it is a caster adjustment issue and assuming that the front end is in good shape, that's what to look for. Stock size, load range E tires with moderate tread patterns aired up to the appropriate pressure and balanced properly is also good DW insurance.

good luck,

Dave

What did you set the caster at when you did the alignment? Try 3. 5+, going past 5 is too much and will make it steer like a washing machine in spin cycle.
