05 Cummins 3500 dually smooth as silk then bam it is so bad it walks me off the road and won't stop til come to a complete stop. Then it is back to smooth again until I hit a bump the right way ir ti just wants to.

Check for usual suspects.
1.loose track bar
2. BFG tires
3. Worn tie rod ends
4. Bad ball joints.

Also check for too much toe in. Friend's truck just had the front end re aligned for free after the tires were replaced . After the work was done if you'd hit a rough patch of road just right the death wobble would show up. The tire shop had set the toe in at 1/4" it should be 1/16 to 1/8" . Reset toe in and now life is good.

Yes update the steering assembly to newest style. When I got the wobble I went through the front end complete with moog parts. And added a dual steering stabilizer. It is nice and tight now. I would also do the gear box brace that bolts under sway bar mounts and frame to frame.

Tires and\or shocks, start there. A set of Bilstein 5100's should be the first investment if you still have the stock shocks. Tires is the next most common cause, not enough sidewall strength will start the oscillation on a bump.
