Does anybody know where i can buy color matched fabric seat covers that DON'T fit like a big elastic cloth bag? A friend used to have the "Performance" brand covers and you could hardly tell they weren't original upholstry. The place thet sold them went out of busines though, and nobody I've talked to has ever heard of them. Thanks in advance for any info.

BBR, I have the Grant Sport Shield seat covers. They fit like a trashbag. But they match the interior (dark blue) and are 100% water, coffee,& oil proof. They were only 19 bucks a piece. I love em #ad

I have a full set of these and they are by far the best seat covers I have ever seen. They are made from wetsuit material (neoprene) and fit so tight you cannot tell they are covers. They come in 26 base colors and are made to order so you can get combinations of colors if you like. I have had mine for about six months and they have been fully tested by my two dogs (225 lb. GCWR). The only downside I have seen is the price, as they are not cheap.

I see you live in Vermont, so this information from the Cincinnati area may not help much, but you may be able to find something similar up there. I couldn't find anything commercially available that suited me either.

I recently had custom seat covers made for my new Quad Cab to protect the factory leather. The covers were for left, right, and center sections of the front 40-20-40 seat, including the bottom of the center arm rest (the piece that becomes the seat back when it's raised). The shop also covered the entire rear seat with a two-piece unit (back and seat). Everything was made from high quality, nylon auto upholstery fabric and constructed to enable me to remove the covers with minimum fuss for laundering.

The entire job cost $560, which I thought was very reasonable for custom work. The shop is well known around here for its workmanship. They do just about everything from restorations of Model T's and 1957 Chevy convertibles, to new upholstery for custom street rods. Interested members may contact Barry Langdon at (812) 537-4304, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. (near Cincinnati, OH)

There must be similar shops in Vermont, or at least in one of the neighboring states. Happy hunting.

I was pleased with the sheepskin seat covers I purchased from Rocky Mountain Sheepskin Co.
This company advertises regularly in magazines like Motor Trend and Four Wheeler. The covers are a good fit for the 40-20-40 seats, and the company offers them in quite a few colors. They are fairly expensive though.
I don't have their address, or website, available.

1968 Hurst HEMI Dart,
I read your post dated 12/12/99 and was wondering where you bought your seat covers. I'm looking for something I can just throw on (when I take our boxer with us) and are easily removable. It sounds like what you described might fit the bill.

Thanks,
Areon (JJY2K)

JJY2K,

This is an old thread. Good find. #ad

I got mine from the Sportsmans Guide. I looked but they are not there anymore.

The seat covers STILL LOOK BRAND NEW. No tears or visable wear. I love them.

For the fronts just get ths standard bucket seat cover. I didn't have a back seat. You will need an old blanket, or something similar to cover the center piece on the 20/40/20 front seats.

I would measure the rear seat and match it up with one available close to that measurement.

I got mine at the Sportsmans guide 2 years ago.

Easy job. A couple of minutes off and maybe 5 back on. I have washed the drivers side cover 3 times since October, very painless.
