Hi, wel I am a new member. When I was reading around here I decided that 260 to 300 hp would do for me so I ordered a edge ez and RV275 injectors.

Boy I was wrong. I want more. I am talking to Adkins to fabric me the cold and hot pipes to put HT3B on top of the standard HX35.

I do tow and I installed gauges

Questions :

1. Should I go for the 22 or 26cm housing? (I have them both from a local surplus guy and they are new). From what I have read here a HX35/12 and HT3B/22 should do good for towing and I like quick spool

2. What is the best box to stack with the EZ

3. What injectors should I use to get to 450HP, I don't want to much smoke if possible the same level as the 275 (practicly zero smoke)

Thanks,

Raf

Oh yeah the transmission is upgraded with edge workhorse converter and transgo shift kit

crazy! you will lose power with that set up. If you want power and reliability do not add twins to that set up. Get a bigger set of injectors (80 HP for towing) and bigger box (Edge comp hot version or TST comp full fuelling to 3400) sell your inj. and box and get a desent sizeed single (Edge BB, B-1, BD super B, Hy tech turbo) any of these turbos will get you 400-500 HP with this set-up and with out all the cost and head aches. Twins blows hose, intercoolers, head gaskets, and make the truck run hotter because its too hard to controll the boost. 50 psi boost is 450-500 degrees of temp. you are radiating in front of your radiator. When you compound your turbos there is no middle ground, its on or off.

I agree about the injectors, ditch 'em. There are better injectors that will get you more power with not much if any more smoke. If you're set on keeping the EZ, get something that only controls fuel, not timing, such as a TST or Blue Chip.

Question, are you building this as a daily driver or somthing to take out on the weekend. This should be determined first as I believe it sets the direction you want to go. With a daily driver, you want relibality and good manuvering power for traffic. That affects your choice. If you have deep pockets and are not concerned about breaking things, then have a go at building up what you want. I like power also and it is addictive, but reliability and dependability rules how I upgrade and mod my truck. Good luck ;)

Yes the truck is being driven every day, I am just afraid that with a bigger single turbo the lag will be bigger and we do tow sometimes but not heavier then lest say 9000lbs.

So for example Mach 1. 6 or 2 a bigger box and a b1 or bd will get me to +400?

Would this spool less quick then stock?

It's not that I have deep pockets but I don't read a lot of these twin problems.

Thanks for the info

well the problem with twins is, if they feel good and spool good in a heavy truck, then they are not making power. You need a really big set of twins. If the twins spool real nice, then they really choke off you power. I've seen it on the dyno over and over again. If spool up is your main worry, then i see that you have three options in turbos. The BD super B, the Edge BB, or ATS MST that will be out at the end of the month. The ats mst wil be the fastest and most power turbo and will cost almost double the others, but in my mind, will be worth it. The edge BB will make more power than the BD super B, but the super B will be a hair faster. All three of these turbos will be faster than the B-1 or Hy-tech.

you want power and you want to tow---the two aren't the best combo to try and acquire, but if you stay at the 450hp range the turbo combo you are talking about should do fine-don't expect the same spool up though, it may not be far off, but it won't be exactly like your single now---you may switch housings to see what suits you best, but if you have both then no big deal--except to tear stuff apart and put it back together---so start with the smaller housing and go for it---no single can do what the twins do---provide you with cooler air so that you can actually make it up the hill at a decent speed--singles tend to make you tow to fast or to slow once you start with boxes and injectors---bottom line is you may need to play a hair with housings, but I think you will be happy in the long run---there's quite a few guys towing with this set up---if you want real world info and no BS pm BPine--I do have an old edge box that will stack nicely with your EZ(came off my '99), but you could just get a COMP box also--chris
