Decifer VIN Information...

On the following VIN number.... would one of you with a computer please share which Automatic this vehicle has... and what the rear end ratio is...

My other question on the 4th Gen trucks... is that on my 3rd gen truck my 3500 has a set of overloads above the standard spring set... and this helps when towing... This truck doesn't have that additional helper set.... is this now the standard on the 4th gen trucks... maybe because of a reprogramming of the existing spring set...

Also I didn't see any kind of ON/OFF for the exhaust brake feature... is this now part of the software programing of the 4th gen... or is this an option that has to be purchased and added.... I assume that these trucks still have the variable turbo that will function as an exhaust brake..

One last thought... I see this truck has what looks like only an am/fm radio.... and didn't realize that the factory still did that and not included a CD Player.... your thoughts on this.... is there a plug and play option to change this easily...

And writing this I'm realizing I need to read a lot more posts on the 4th gen trucks...

Cant help you with the VIN stuff but CD player is optional in the center console. There is a USB port there too and a Aux input. The exhaust brake is controlled by switched under the radio in the center stack. I guess your looking at a Tradesman?

Jim, I tried for about an hr but could only get generic info from your vin. As for helpers, my 15 srw has factory GN hitch and an Aisin and has no helpers. Sorry I'm no more help.

I'd imagine what Bob4x4 posted is ran via a dealer summary report of some kind, since it is detailed with actual sales codes.

I got the same type of report from my friendly Dodge/Ram dealer. They called it a "Star Network - Vehicle Information Report". They wanted to see the owner's registration (title) before they would print out a report. For some reason they want to make sure that you're the registered owner.
