I have an '03 2500 LWB SO... 20,000 miles and have had no troubles at all (with the exception of the A/C frosting). Today, I drove an '05 2500 SB 600 Sport. Nice truck. The response from the engine is much better in the '05. I don't tow, I don't bomb, I just like the CTD... My question: have read all the problems w/ 04's... . don't know if they carry over to '05's or not... . All things being equal, would I be better off just keeping my '03..... Thanks in advance for your input.....

BTW: both trucks are 2WD.....

lots of reasons either way as i see it.

well the most obvious reason to change is the higher horsepower and torque.

are you looking to change cab style or wheel base size?

are there options on the 05 that you don't have on the 03 that you would like to have?

are you willing to possibly loose a little on fuel mileage?

obviously cost plays a major factor too.

the TST box would bring your HP & torque in line with the 05 for much less $ if HP/torque is a question.

i know that even if money was not an issue, i would stay with my 04. 0. then again i already have the HO.

tough call. is there a spouse or "significant other" that has some say in this matter.

that would be a definate in my case.

this is actually a good problem to have!!

there is nothing like the smell of a new interior.

good luck what ever you decide

I'd say keep the 03, other than to change the big stuff like:

LB to a SB

6-spd to a AUTO

etc

Jim, yes, I have a wife, and she says "Go for it... You're not getting any younger"... . love her since of emergency. I'm taking her by to drive it this morning. Fuel mileage is one thing that sticks in my mind... my '03 has averaged 18. 75 over the last 12,000 miles... . really good for such a large truck, and I like that.

Tommy: the LB to SB is a definate plus to me... both are autos.

I've never really "questioned" a new truck... . makes me think I should stick with what I got.....

Thanks for the thoughts, ya'll... ...

Trust me... I have 3 trucks with G56's that are in IL right now... And will be here on wednesday or so... .

So I will post some pics and deatails when they arrive

Also --- Me? flog a potential future customers car ??? I would never do that

.

.

.

Well, maybe this once :D

(Then I'll make sure I trade it to another dealer)

If it's the power issue I would but a TST PowermaxCr. Very simple to install and power will be better that the o5 you drove. The money you shell out will be a penny in the bucket compaired to trading in the o3 and the finacing for the o5.

If it's the sportness of the shortbed ill loan you my chop saw! :--)
