My deck is in dire need of a washing and staining. There are 1000 deck cleaners out there, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any one in particular.

I used my 2400 PSI pressure washer with plain water to clean my treated pine deck. It took off the accumulated dirt. discolorations, and mildew. When I finished it looked like it did when it was new. However, I had to be careful because it's easy when using a pressure washer to turn the deck boards into match sticks!

I used this deck cleaner from Lows made by Olymipa. Spray it on with a sprayer, let it sit a couple minutes then rinse it off with a 1000 psi pressure washer. Looked like new. Once dry I sealed it.

I should've taken TowPro's advice. I made the mistake of going to the local Sherwin Williams store, figuring they'd have some nice "special" stuff that was better than Lowes. They sold me a $20 gallon of "Revive". When I used it up I tried the Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner at $6 per gallon. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE.

The Revive was crap, the Olympic worked awesome.

I'm now seriously considering leaving the deck as it is and simply cleaning it every year or 2 instead of staining or sealing it. Looks good just "clean". Why break my back staining/sealing it every year?
