Right now I am running an EZ and DD1's with a PDR HX-35. I am still using the stock down pipe, no resinator, and the Geno's ME kit. It sounds really good, but would like a little deeper and throatier sound.

What if all I did was change out the down pipe:confused:

Anyone else experiment to get the sound they were looking for??

I'm seriously thinking about doing stacks. However, one concern would be if there would be any soot in the bed of the truck and the other would be if I would have to put a muffler or do you straight pipe the stacks.

Thanks!! :p

tnt,

We just put a JRE system on the ToolMan's rig yesterday. It does sound nice but not the sound I'm looking for. With the recent turbo install and adding a 5" tip, it really sounds sweet, but still needs a little more sound tuning:D

Stacks, oh yes, stacks:D

Muffler is just added weight:rolleyes: I was amazed at how nasty my stack, soon to be stacks sounded after I removed the banks muffler and pipe. Dropped the EGT 100degrees too:cool: Sounds like my buddy's peterbilt now. Exhaust=bigger=better!!:D One thing about the stacks though, don't stick your head out the back window after a good rain to watch the puff of smoke when starting your rig:--) .

Straight pipe the stacks. Just don't forget the #ad

dual

I have custom dual 5" pipes coming straight out the back. Tailgate get gets a little dirty, but they sound great, and turn alot of heads. I believe when we dynoed at Kauffmans a few weeks ago, mine was probably the loudest truck there. But I like it that way.

ob1kobi,

Saw you going down rt 4 the week after Kaufmans. Those pipes are sweet. Nice light smoke coming out of 'em, too. I was driving my Mustang GT. Figured I'd better put a TDR sticker on the back of it. It's not bad enough to mess with the mighty Cummins, yet. :)
