DEF Colors

OK, Wal-Mart sells Blue DEF but I'd prefer a different color... like maybe lime green or lavender.

Any idea where I can find DEF in something other than blue?

Blue DEF is a brand name, Peak. AFAIK all DEF is pale yellow or colorless.

Even diesel is available in different colors. DEF should be too!

Is it 4/1 already? Really, I have seen white DEF. This is not good. I believe that's when it's contaminated with water. Looks like emulsified/ milkshake oil. Leave it to the guys who give me LOTS of work!

Not quite yet... but I was only kidding about the color.

I think the hotter the color of the DEF - the more miles one gets between refills. Blue DEF does not really go that far!!!!! Chris

Maybe you can add food coloring. This stuff is clear (no color). It is 67% water and 33% Urea. It

has been in Europe for several years. Over there they call it "AdBlue".

Yes I use it in my Truck since 2006, every week 10 Gallon of it.

I find it quiet funny that you over there buy those stuff in Canister, we have it on Pump at many Gasstations.

Ozymandias, I buy it at the big truck pumps myself here. Its a option to buy in the container at $5 a gallon or $2.79 a gal at the pumps..

Amazing that it's $2.79 at Flying J and $11.97 for 2.5 gal at Walmart and probably in PA with 6% tax that would be $12.57 or $5.03 per gallon.
Makes me think of carrying a small refill jug to the truck stop!

DEF dispenser in the shop works just fine, fill up and put the cover back on so it dont get any contaminants on and in the system. Agreed its not for everyone, but sure is convenient!!
