Question

A couple is going to be tagging along with us on our vacation. They own one of the Brand X trucks with the need for DEF. Looking at the prices and the cleanliness of the DEF pumps at Truck stops, of which I don't stop at unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!! Is there any kind of DEF container that could be used so they could carry a few gallons of Pee with them. Some of the Cardlocks that I & they will be using don't dispense DEF. The cost difference alone is amazing to me, some of the DEF is $15.00 for 2.5 gal but yet at the pump $2.?? I get it for our Tractors at home for $1.30 a gal in quality of course. Just wondering if a special container is required to carry spare Pee, I know that the nozzle is different but have figured a way around that.

Sure glad I don't have a need for the stuff.

I just stop at a Wally World and buy a box of Blue DEF when needed. They do not recommend refilling a container. They do not recommend storing it. WM sells a lot of it so it should be fresh. Boxes are date coded.

I agree truck stop pumps are pretty nasty.

The Wal-Mart brand is $8.?? for a 2.5-gallon jug. I would never chance contaminating my DEF system to save a couple of bucks.

The price spread is WILD!! as far as storage the company that delivers our Off Road diesel and the DEF said that it can be stored just cover it so the sunlight don't beat down on it. On the 275 gal tote we have an insulated blanket that works fine except to see how much is left in the tote.

HEAVEN FORBID THAT THE ONE THAT FILLS THE DEF TANK ON THE TRACTOR SHOULD WRITE DOWN HOW MUCH THEY USED
