Has anyone considered adding a battery blanket heater around there DEF tank? My situation is that my drive is only about 13 minutes to work and with a 15 minute warm up this is only half an hour, this doesn't give the factory tank heater enough time to thaw out the fluid when it is colder. I have found a 72" long battery blanket heater and I'm considering wrapping it around the bottom half of the tank and plugging it in when the temperatures are colder than the freezing point of the fluid to help keep it from freezing. Seems logical to me. Am I missing something here? I'll have to crawl under the truck and see if there is a flat enough band of area around the tank for this idea to work and have good enough contact. Pretty soon my truck will cost less on fuel than the power I use to plug it in with the block heater, pan heater and small pan heater on transmission pan
It was only -40 C/F this morning again!!!:--)
I don't have a big enough igloo to park my truck in.
