what are my options to get rid of the defuel mode on my truck?

Is there any benefit to get rid of the mode other than acceleration purposes?

the boost defuel

i guess the boost defuel is the main thing.

I am totally happy with the setup i have, but when i do go to the quarter mile to run, i would like the option to be able to launch a little harder off the line.

does the Drag Comp do this? What setting on the Drag Comp if it is possible? do all 5 settings get rid of the defuel? or just 5X5? i think i can upgrade my Comp to Drag Comp for a lot less money than a Smarty.

Can anyone with a Smarty do this on my truck? Or is a Smarty "locked" on to one truck? I don't want to drop $600 for one option - like i said i am happy with my setup other than the defuel issue.

AH HA! a 2002 has problems with torque management on boosted launches look at a BD RAD, WARPIG is using one you can search on that thread.

To get rid of the torque management on an 01 or 02, you would need to get a RAD. NOTHING else totally eliminates the torque management. It also eliminates the mph limit as well. The down side to a RAD is that most of your stock gauges will stop working when the RAD is on.

A drag comp will move the rpm defuel point from ~2700 to ~3200 rpm, but it only does this on 5x5.

As far as launching harder, I would be careful with stock shafts. Keep it under 10psi on the launch. Some people get away with more, but it is always a gamble. And of course if you keep it under 10psi, you don't really need a RAD.

Hope this helps...

Paul
