ive got a 2004. 5 with the 600 and have a edge ez,afe air filter, magnaflow muffler . my problem is my truck will only powerbrake to about 2100 rpm's, making a good launch impossible. im installing a tst box tommorrow and wonder if it will correct the problem or is there some other fix out there.

The 325/600 common rail engine can and does de-fuel to save the powertrain. It de-fuels on shifts, and de-fuels as necessary to keep the maximum torque delivered to the powertrain at about 570 lb/ft of torque. It will max fuel if the generator, fan and A/C compressor are at full tilt, again to keep the torque at a safe level.

Not sure what effect the various boxes have, but obviously they must be able to fool the ECU to addiing more fuel then it thinks it needs, but not enough to overcome the torque converter.

Thats strange. I had a Dr Performance Stage II (85hp/160fpt) on my 600. I believe from the power and 1/4 mile times that it was putting a good bit of that to the rear wheels. I could power brake to red line or 20 psi boost easily. I was able to smoke the 315s just like 16in slicks at the track. Of course that was before I realized I was probably boarderline from blowing a head gasket, turbo or input shaft. I now am stock except for afe intake and Banks exhaust. Saving for ATS Stage V trans upgrade.

My 04 305/555 does the exact same thing. I couldn't get that thing to brake torque if I locked down the brake and set a brick on the accelerator pedal for a day  , it just gets to a certain RPM and won't spool any more. I am dumb founded how they make advertisements like edges with the truck just "eating"... . If brake torque it will spin as soon as I let off the brake, but only rolls about 6 feet until it defuels / shifts to second and then slightly starts scuffing the tires again. This make it really interesting when you go to hammer out of some where (ready for it to kick sideways) steer into it (it defuels and grips for a split second) shifts then blows out the tires / kicks side ways again... So another words, hard to smoothly control the power slides.

Mines bone stock except for a EZ box on level 4...
