Ok, Here in Wisconsin we are getting some wounderful weather as any one who watched the :{ Packer Giant game saw. We were a High of 0 and low of -6 degrees currently.
Truck starts just fine plugged in or not plugged in but I can let it idle (and high idle) for 5 minutes, go out and the transmission won't let me take it out of park. OK Safety feature, I can see that.
Seriously how warm does this need to get in order to shift out of park.
I had the truck plugged in at 10pm last night, go out start the truck at 6:45 am. No problem starting (has mopar winter front on) go inside get the son in his jacket, grab a few things go out put kid in seat now about 6:53, Won't shift out of park. So I then revved the motor to 2K for 20 sec, nothing. did it again for 30 Sec, nothing. Did it again for 30 sec but also brought it up to 2. 5k rpm's. Then it shifted but now very willingly.
Do I have a over sensative safety feature, 7 min of idle and then had to hold it at 2K rpms for almost 2 min. Cmon that seems a little unreal here.
Idle doesn't build up much heat anyway so what is up with this? once it is warm, no problem shifting after that.
