Do Fuel Stations have 1 Diesel Tank?

I'm heading to Delaware for awhile...

Where I'm going, so I've been told, I need a Delaware vehicle inspection sticker/certificate for my vehicle eventhough its registered in GA. (I'll be living there for awhile but not permanently)

Anyone have any experience with getting a cummins with slight mods through that inspection?

My biggest concern is the exhaust system.

When I went to their DOT website for information on the inspection they speciffically mentioned having a CAT and stock noise levels... ... . that has me worried just a bit.

Who told you that you needed a DE inspection for an out-of-state vehicle? I'm not sure about that one; I believe that you can drive anywhere you want, as long as you're current and up-to-date with your home state registration.

I did licence and register in DE for a few years. I used a beach house as my residence - no personal property tax on the cars like in VA. My Blazer had a test pipe (removed cat) and passed fine. The funnest part of the DE inspection is the brake test. You start at one end of the garage and floor it. At the other end is a "stop" line and ultra-sticky surface platform with a mercury pressure guage. You stop hard at the line and the device measures your deceleration somehow. I guess if you go past the sticky platform you FAIL!:D That was a few years ago, and things can change. You should check for sure from their DOT before you just show up at an inspection station though. Might save some $$$.

Yeah I'm driving in a insp state, licenced in another state, no problemo. If you get stopped you've been there for a week. Most states have a time limit to get a Drivers License and your car registered it that state.

Also, if your truck did not come with a Cat from the factory, you don't need one. Down here, we don't need cats on the 24 valvers.

Its a military thing... . to get the vehicle registered on post the MPs state that you must have a state inspection even if the vehicle is registed out of state.

I guess I'll just wait and see while I try to drive quite.

Redleg, your right the base up here does require you to have a delaware inspection no matter where the truck is registered, as far as getting your truck through, there are several individuals on base that have their trucks bombed and get through with no problems. For the brake inspection I'm not sure where fortunate1 got his truck inspected, but the inspection station in Dover when you hit the brakes you stop on sensors that somehow measure the amount of force applied at each wheel. The figures have to be within so many pounds(?) to pass. When are you coming up? PM me and I'll try to get you more info.
