Trucks been acting up lately. Surprised the trans held out so long without problems given the use. Generally hangs in second while cold (trans below 115F) and shifts to third when it feels like it. Shift seems unrelated to RPM or throttle position. Sometimes shifts so late when cold I think I could hit the governor. When warm generally shifts ok; however, it will still periodically delay shift even when temps are above 130F. Fluid level ok, front band correctly adjusted, linkages correct and in spec. Anyone out there with an idea? Basically stock trans with 150k miles. If it likely internal lip seal or other PITA can anyone recommend an experienced shop in Sacramento, CA area.

may be time for DTT

Give Bill @ DTT a call. Will give you straight talk and may have an installer in your area. 1-866-504-4002. If you need a trans, do it right the first time.

Mine did that too at 75k miles (1996 2500 2x4). Luckily I had an extended warranty. Dealer opened the darn thing and found a broken seal. They were not sure that the seal was already broken or broke when opening. Anyway, the rebuilt it for $1,500 and it's been working fine ever since (now more than 150k miles, and counting). If you are the payer, take your time and shop for a neat one. HTH Dan
