Does any one know when the DeLeon sled pull is? Just trying to see if I need to take any vacation. March 25th at Winters Texas they are putting on a Antique tractor pull. After the tractors are finished then they turn the pickups loose. It is nothing like DeLeon it is more layedback. It is more for fun or practice. The sled is also a Antique.

I am pretty sure the pull in De Leon was Aug 6 and 7 LAST year, hope this helps.

care to share more info on the pull in Winters? I am in Houston; I was at De Leon last year with a few good buddies.

hope this helps

At Winters last year they did not take care of the track after the tractors finished. You could pull as many times as you wanted for $20 a pull. Really no rules such as no weight limit, mods. , or hitch height. The spectators are on the track and in the trucks. Just about anything goes. We showed up about 10 and that was to early. We had to watch the tractors pull over and over. If I wasn't working I would get there about 2 or 3, and keep in mind it is only one day. Another thing to keep in mind after you drive that far something may happen to the Antique sled. Not trying to turn any one away, but I would hate to see some one disappointed.

There is going to be alot more pulling going on this year. . Mainly because the Antiques Clubs have bought/built sleds... Winters is a long ways to go (for WUnderwood) for a pull... There is a group out of Stephenville that has a selfpropelled sled that is about the best the Antiques have. . it used to be the sled they used in DeLeon. . There is some clubs west of Houston that have built some sleds, but I have not seen or pulled them. . The problem is that many of the sleds they are building are cable drive. . which is Ok for a Antiques. . but when you start adding speed. . the cables start working like a rubber band... and it can get dangerous... not a big deal when your sitting inside the cab of the truck... but If your in a tractor without out a cage it can be...

Below is a list of the Antique pulls that I know of. . I know there are many in the San Antonio area. . and over to Houston. . (but I don't have the dates. . and I haven't seen the sled. )

Untill they start getting more trucks, they are not going to have a class. . (Other than Gas/Diesel)

Someone needs to set a hitch height and weight classes. . (at least to get started. . )

Both clubs will let anyone pull. . and have pulled trucks at most of the pulls. .

The ECTP sled is the old DeLeon Sled. . The person to contact would be Gary Henderson from Stephenville. . He's the man in charge of the sled.

The TATPA sled is a cable drive sled that has been used for the past 6-7?yrs for the club. .

i was at the pull they had over at Carls Corner last july and they pulled some trucks after the tractors were done... ... . it was fun but would have liked more smokers cuz im from the midwest and use to go with mom and dad to the big pulls up there :D and wish they had pulls like that down here cuz i miss that alot :{ but anyways i was gonna ask since my '91 is only 2WD and the sled the Antiques pull is round 36,000 pounds is there anyway i can pull that thing? it was really hard to keep from tryin last year  ... ... . but now i have more power and alot more smoke :D

Micheal. . We pulled antique at Carls Corner. . They didn't have any trucks show up. . or. . not any diesels. .

The pulls in Stephenville usually has about 20 trucks... all the College kids come out and pull. . and a few local farmers. . Mostly just trucks with minor upgrades... Last year one actually pulling truck. . (diesel. . (I'm drawing a blank at his name. . at the moment. )

tD. . Usually Friday night is a practice/test/tune pull... and Saturday is the actual pull. . (but sometimes they will run a class of the trucks both nights. ) They will usually try to mix a few trucks in with the tractors. . and then run a full class after all the tractors. . I'll see if I can find Gary Henderson's number, he's incharge of the sled... We'll make it to most of the pulls with-in 150 miles of Waco... but won't be pulling the truck...
