Can anyone tell me what the current "delete bed" or "delete cargo box" option code is? We're looking at a 4x4 club cab 3500 SRW.

Thx. Matt

Here ya go:

XBC - Pickup Box Delete

(N/A w/Trailer Tow Group-AHC, Tonneau Cover-CSU or Bed Liner-XME or XMD)

Invoice: $(-352)

MSRP: $(-400)

Sell the Bed On eBay, Maybe

Thanks for the code & info. I see that the XBC option is not available with the factory bedliner option. I wonder how many people tried to order both.

I suppose that it's possible to remove & sell the bed. I'd be surprised if it would bring that much, but I am often surprised. There's a king-size hassle factor and a problem with the $40 plus per hour shop charge.

If you get the delete bed I believe they will put on minimal turn signal ights and a support for the filler neck, as well as some cheap mudflaps. If you are bringing it to a custom bed builder none of this is necessary, except that the bed woud have to be on for it to be legal to drive to the bed builder. If you can sell it locally then go for it and buy a cheap set of turn signals for the trip to the builder. IMHO

I'd echo Pete's respone. For the $350 bucks get the box. That way you'll be set up until you can get over to have the flatbed, utlity box, or whatever installed. Plus you can either sell the box or keep it as an option for a prospective buyer when you sell the truck.

I agree with get the box. That is providing you have a place to store it if your gonna keep it. It will definitely help resale value. A bud bought an old Ford Powerstroke 4X4 to use in his brick laying trade. It was about 10 years old. Had 100,000 or so MIchigan miles on it. The guy he bought it from was a plumber. Had one of those service type box beds on it. When he sold it to my bud, he pulled his service box and put the original bed back on it. What a sight! Here's this ratty, rusty looking cab with a like new bed!!! Being a work truck and him a brick layer, it didn't look new for long!
