First off, this is my first post. So if it's in the wrong forum, please forgive me.

Here is my situation: Ordered a new 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad cab with Cummins engine and quite a bit more. Placed the order on 7/31. The truck was completed on 8/23, that was good. I was told at that time that it had shipped, good also. Sold my old truck then. I began to get curious why it hadn't arrived. Called DC today, they told me it was still at the plant waiting on the trucking company. I got the name of the trucking company and called them. They tell me the factory shows it on shipping hold. Called DC back, they said it is released, but don't have the contacts to straighten things out and to call my dealer. My dealer tells me to call DC. The *&^%)# factory (St. Louis) is only 5 hours away. I could have walked there by now!

I'm really getting hot! Any suggestions on other contacts to get things resolved.

Thanks

Time to move up the food chain, demand to talk to a supervisor and get to the bottom of it - simple. Your are the customer. Good luck.

Ramboat:
Hang in there. It could show up all of a sudden. I found that their tracking data was often inaccurate. My truck was shipped several days before they said it would be built. The tracking system sounds impressive, but they aren't able to keep it up to date to make it work like it should. Also, if it is on shipping hold, that could mean it's in the quality inspection. They randomly pull trucks out for this. If so, it could delay it a week or two. I remember reading about someone else this happened to.
Once you know it's been built, it's a killer waiting for it! #ad
Mine took 2 months to arrive from date of order.

Ramboat,

Just hang in there. I ordered my truck in Aug 94 and got it in Apr 95. Compared to that you don't have a problem. It's worth the wait. Just some burcratic foul up. They are not making any money with trucks tieing up space in the system so as soon as they can it will be there.

Hang tuff, it's worth the wait. Took 5+ months from the day I ordered till my butt was feeling the torque of the Cummins. Would do it all over again in a heart beat... I've found the squeaky wheel still gets the oil, so be persistant with DC.

Thanks to all who replied to my original post.

I finally got help by emailing DC. It seems my truck is being or is going to be inspected. They promised it would be shipped by the end of the week. I'll have to wait to see if that's true. They also called my local dealer to have a little chat about their level of support. I should get a real warm reception after that #ad
!

Twice before I emailed DC with questions when I couldn't get answers elsewhere. You might want to try it if you are have trouble getting answers from DC.

Thanks again,

Doug

Rud5. 9:

Go to Dodge's web site, www.4adodge.com.
Select Customer services, then DC Answers, then Contact us.

Type in appropriate information and question.

They were very prompt in responding the 3 times I contacted them. Thank goodness, it's the only way I got straight answers.

Good luck,

Doug

I bet they would try a little harder with some fire on their ass.

How about letting them know you're cancelling the order if they dont get it rolling?
