Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) delivery valve removal

I'm in the middle of pulling apart my truck to bump the timing and put the KDP tab in. I removed the spring, fill piece and 2 piece delivery valve assembly with no problem. The repair manual states to take out the copper d. v. washer. Mine doesn't have one. I checked the next d. v. and it was the same. Is this going to be a problem? Do all pumps use this washer or just sum? Thanks for any help guys.

Your pump doesn't have washers. Kep the internal parts very clean and put diesel fuel on your fingers before touching them.

My 98 did not have the coper washers either. Mabey

it was just on earlier models?

FWIW: My really early '94 P7100 doesn't have the washers.....
