Has anyone sent in a sample of new Delo 400 15/40 oil for an oil analysis to establish a base line? I would appreciate it if you could attach results or provide a reference to a TDR thread if one exists. I have been collection oil samples since my truck was new so I am establishing an interesting data base but it is not meaningful without a base line... thank kts

I'm doing much the same as you are - note that the 2 above samples are the same oil, but different labs - pretty interesting variations - I'll have more info and comment in a week or so when I get one more analysis report of my own back...

The difference in viscosity is that the first analysis is expressed in centistokes (cSt) while the second is in Saybolt universal seconds (SUS).

I am going to prepare a spread sheet of my results. I have been increasing my oil change interval by 1000 miles for each change trying to figure out when "the oil goes south". I realize that there are alot of variables. I have been using the sample kits from Geno's. Should I change to a different laboratory?

Gary to you have results for the rest of the constituents that are typically tested for on an oil analyses? Sorry to be so picky I just want to do a complete comparison.

I suspect the values not listed were zero or too insignificant to list - those 2 were picked up over in the bobistheoilguy board...
