Dear Abby:

Beware if you purchase this software. Some of the routing is very screwed up. You will pull your hair out trying to get your route the way you want it.

The default route I get from Tontitown, AR to Tulsa, OK routes me way south about 50 miles out of the way. It will absolutely not allow me to use the turnpike on the return trip!

Try adding a "via" on the road you want to force the program to route you along. This same problem is in the earlier version of the program as well.

Its not really a software problem as much as it is the fact Delorme does not know the local roads as well as you do when it comes to picking which one you want to use.

If they did route you along the turnpike another user might say "I don't like it because it always routes me across the pay roads"

I think somewhere it says to "use your judgment". One time I clicked the wrong button (shortest instead of preferred) and ended up pulling my 30' 5th wheel straight through down town Norfolk where I really wanted to go around the bypass!

I've been using their products for years. The OK turnpike between Tulsa and Siloam Springs, AR just cannot be used for routing. Could not be used 3 or 4 years ago when I first reported it.

They did correct US412 west of Tontitown, AR which was in error in the 2002 edition.

I have one of the original Earthmate serial GPS devices and just upgraded to the USB version.

I was just hoping they would correct the issue seeing how most of my trip routing travels that road.

I've written them several messages. I get their 'canned' response. I actually got a message today from a 'person' stating that they never received any messages from me. I wonder how I got the canned responses from their system?

Frustrating.
