I've been reading several posts about the 220A Denso alternator which is an option on some 4500/5500 models with 6.7 engines.
I'm considering an upgrade, but want to know if anyone with a 3rd gen 5.9 has actually attempted this conversion. So far I have not found it as it appears they are 6.7 conversions. It sure looks identical but I'm concerned about potential circuit differences.
I'm upgrading wiring for towing my camper as well as improving all the under hood wiring including alt to megafuse to bat and alt ground. Although my 5.9 has a 136 A Bosch just as many 6.7s do, the part numbers are not the same - there appears to be some kind of difference even though they look identical.
I'm aware of several of the Mechman, Mean Green, & etc, but focused on OEM before I go another direction.
Thanks.
