Seeing these on a few big trucks nowadays, see any similarities to the bulletproof starters used on our CTD's???:D

Seth decided to start stocking these as a replacement for the 40MT and 42MT Delco starters if a customer wishes to change over. Nice looking piece, I'll tell you.

Not bad really. $375.00 brand spankin' new.

A 42MT with Overcrank Protection is $275.00 exchange and it's a reman unit. The brand new Delco 39MT gear drive equivalent is $320.00.

I think it has a place here for certain customers.

Good deal.I'm amazed. LarryB's (of Dodge Ram starter and alternator fame) gets $560 for a new Denso starter for 2010 and up Rams. I'd have bet 3 times what you guys are charging for that piece. No wonder your shop is always busy.

Better clean up around there. Too many parts on the floor:D

Yeah, it's like the tides.....a constant ebb and flow..

The top guns set the cores and returns there and my night guy sifts through it every shift to get it put away.

I have two countermen that sell twice the amount that DTNA says a counterman can handle per month consistently. I let them spin around and set stuff there so they can get to the next project. These guys deal with our OEM brands (Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling, Fuso and Thermoking) plus whatever else gets thrown at them. They haul *** so I let them get away with little parts pyramids.....:D. I used to build them too when I was out there...

I haven't seen that one yet. The bolt pattern looks weird, but it's prolly due to the nose being so small. The only negative I see is that you can't clock the flange, but there are others you can't clock as well. There is a new small replacement for the 'ol SI alternators too.

Dang! Class 8? It doesnt look that big.
I gave away a starter, 4 cylinder air compressor, and 4' roper pump off my old rig. ( old Matlack truck)
I needed to stop at the watering hole for a while for some rest after that.:)
It was a while ago, but they must have weighted almost 75 lbs each I suppose.

Seth and I are wondering if we can get a kit similar to Larry B's for the solenoid contacts. It appears to be identical in design to our starters, only larger of course.

Don't tamper with success! I prefer organized chaos, myself, to a sanitary operation where nothing gets done. You should see my desk, I refer to it as my "Heap O'Dung"...

My desk suffers from "Piles" as well..... it all works as long as the girls don't come in here and shuffle it 'cause then I can't find anything.....:D

They learned after I had a couple of meltdowns to wait just a damn minute and let me find whatever they are looking for.

I like the "Organized Chaos", I think I'll keep that phrase for later use....

Had a flunky here "clean up" the shop. He threw away two Cummins boxes we needed for cores. They were in the dumpster and the dumpster was emptied before we realized it.......
