In the Clothes Washing Machine. When it comes to appliances, I (usually) give them one shot at a 2nd life.
Wifey said "It stopped Spinning". Pulled the machine from wall & found the plastic/Rubber TC on the floor. Could'a stopped there, but I figured I would pull out the gearcase & make sure nothing was bound up.
Man, the oil they put in these things is like cold dark honey. Very "sticky" to say the least.
After a major cleaning & check. . hmmm what to oil to replace?
Heck yeah. . right there on the shelf... 1/2 qt 30wt Synthetic.
So, $20 for a new drive hub, 3 hours to reassemble the ol' Whirlpool, and this thing runs awesome! Quiet, no banging/clunking/or noises on cycle changes... darn, maybe I missed my calling? Oo.
