KBB says my truck is worth only 16K in a private sale. Good condition, 83K, 3rd gen track bar & DSS bracket and DSS steering bracket,2 transmission temp gauges, double deep trans pan, 2 fuel pressure gauges and Fass pump. PV44 replaced under warranty at 55k. Fairly new Toyos and new Ranchos with the in-cab controls. I'm the second owner and bought it at 30K and it is the camper special. Only used it for my cab-over camper.

Is 16K really all I can ask and expect to get?

I know you don't want to hear the unpleasant truth but the reality is you would be VERY lucky to get that for it. Ever since the price of diesel skyrocketed a year ago and the economy slowed the value of late model diesel-powered 3/4 and one ton trucks tanked.

KBB and NADA books are helpful but ultimately anything for sale is only worth what a qualifed buyer will pay for it and what an informed seller will accept.

Anyone can walk into a dealer tomorrow and buy a brand new loaded 2009 for a price in the $30ks.

Just to get the facts try calling the used car manager at your local Dodge truck dealer and ask him for a bid on your truck. His answer will be disappointing.
