My one wheel peel days are over for good!!!!!
Removal of the open rearend was pretty simple, rear cover, unbolt axels, caps fromt he rearend, and bam it came out, bearings were tight and good so I had to pry a little. THEN my 2500 is setup like a 1500 where the bearings are pressed on the housing. so that was a PITA after a good beating each side came off (being careful not to hurt the shims and bearing), Removal of the ring and sensor ring was easy.
Cleanup... pretty simple just clean the shims, gears, bearing caps, axel housing, pinion gear, etc... I had to hone off the . 005 shims since they were a little beat from the bearing removal
Reinstall of the Detroit NoSPIN locker was pretty easy. I put the same shims on each side just to pray that it will have the same mesh as the stock open rearend. Shims on, bearings pressed on, it was almost ready to go on. I put some depression blueing on the pinion gear to check the gear mesh once we had it installed. We put the locker back in and bolted it down, then it was time to check the backlash and I ended up with . 006 backlash which I wanted it to be . 006 -. 007 Then came time to see if the mesh was good and thankfully once I rolled the driveshaft the depression blueing was accrost the whole gear!!!! PERFECT so we lucked out big time!!!!!! finished the install and cleanup
TEST--- went down the road and checked it out and it was perfect. Ive got a little inner wheel spin after the locker spool runs out but it snaps back in once you straighten it out. Back to the barn and did a burnout : 2 tires woohoo!!! no more one wheel peel!!
4 hr project but it is well worth it!!!!!
Drivetrain specialists is whom I ordered my locker from. Ordered it thrusday afternoon and friday afternoon it was at the door step!!

This isnt a detailed description just a dusting for others looking to do the swap.
