Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has ever swapped or transplanted a Deutz Diesel Engine into a factory gasoline powered vehicle ? I have read / heard that a SAE 3 16" diameter ring (I think but I may be mistaken ) like those used in the B Series Cummins Engines could be used with some deutz diesel engines to make use of commonly used transmissions by deutz diesel engines possible.

I know NYC experimented with Deutz in trucks, and we had Trojan loaders with 6 and V8's in them. We still see 4's in miller welding machines. Excellent quality German machinery. I think it's possible to put one in a truck. Aside, I don't think much performance wise, and what about heat and such? You'll have to think about cooling air circulation too.
