DHRA Steps up the purses for National Events
Drag Racing purses for Indy (FASS Diesel Nationals, Utah Diesel Nationals, and Texas Diesel Nationals) were announced today by DHRA President Larry Knight, who told DHRAonline.com that the future of fuel prices has forced him to take a closer look at the schedule, series and purses for 2008. "We need to step it up for the participants, the economy is looking bleak as it is, now we are told that fuel may hit $4. 00/gallon this year. " Larry continued "They are the show, we need them there and this is a great way to help soften that expense. "
When the DieselPower! Additives Drag Racing series stops in Indy, Utah and Baytown; the purses will be:
ET Brackets[$2,000/1,000/500/500] = $4,000. 00
Quick Diesel [$2,000/1,000/500/500] =$4,000. 00
PRO STREET 2WD [$2,000/1,000/500/500] =$4,000. 00
PRO STREET 4WD [$2,000/1,000/500/500] = $4,000. 00
PRO STOCK [$2,500/1,450/1,000/1,000] = $5,950. 00
TOP DIESEL [$2,500/1,450/1,000/1,000] = $5,950. 00
TOTAL - $27,900. 00
INCREASE OF 33. 9% OVER 2007
The Sled Pulling purses for the same national events are as follows:
