DHRA ESPN Video

Information is up on www.dhraonline.com. We are unable to have sled pulls this year, but look forward to having them next year. Drag racing we will be running the DHRA DieselPower! Drag Racing Series Championship; and the Pro Street Shootout final race; along with an open ET Bracket race for any diesel and if there is enough interest, a sneak peak at the new Quick Diesel class for 2006. That is an index class-the index is 12. 0. Houston Area PowerStrokes will be hosting the show-n-shine-classes are TBA. And we are awaiting information on a dyno.

Not sure, if we don't make it with the dragster that means we are making some changes. Depends on what choice Mr. Scheid makes.

Earl Tally won the Diesel Power Drag Racing Series championship. The final was a close race, right to the wire. Until the lights came on, we couldn't tell if Earl or Pat McRat had won. But Earl won it and the title with his deadly consistency.

In Pro Street, Joe Hellman laid down a few good passes, but broke before eliminations. Domingo, El Cubano Loco, left his waterlogged racer in Miami and came to cheer on the racers. In the end, it came down to Stuckey and Morrison. They spooled at the line, ready to go BTTW to win. The spectators strained forward, anticipating the coming race. Alas, it was not to be; Stuckey's engine was a little too much for the Dana 70. So Darren won the race and the Pro Street Shootout Championship.

In other news, there is a new World's Fastest Powerstroke. After laying down a few test passes, Weweld lined up against Snow White, and, ever so gracefully and delicately, plucked the title from Mr. Lott.

Finally, Brian Bunting ran in the mid-13s with his sled-pulling beast. He'll surely return next year when we have a pulling track next to the drag strip.

I'll let others fill in the details concerning ETs, RTs, DIs, track conditions, and other terciary data.

All 'round, it was a great day of heated rivalry and good sportsmanship.

Look for pics on the DHRA Fan Site.

Neal just to clarify Snow White is still the fastest @122. 42,she had a few shifting issues thanks to the added power she was displaying.

Food for thought the 1/8 mile trap speed was 91mph on the 12. 0 run that's a 31 mph gain in the top 1/8.

Man, I keep getting 'fastest' and 'quickest' mixed up. A 50% MPH gain in the top 1/8 is impressive, indeed; you're more effectively coupling the engine to the pavement. Now you gotta work on the 50% MPH gain in the big end. :D :D But don't let complacency settle in; you don't want some unknown to wander in and spank you, eh? :)

Competition, sportsmanship and titles switching hands excites fans, interests potential sponsors, and stirs up spirited trash talk among competitors - three signs of a viable motorsports industry.
