Competition So I think I'm down to the low to mid 13's

the DHRA tech guy (Detters) has some of the new rules up on ALL Diesel Motorsports site . I don't knowq how to link it so you'll have to go over there and look.

I think there will be a few upset pullers by the sounds of what is going to be comin

And that will be different from upset pullers we had this year how?

so true , just a average year for you sleddy with a little :-{} and some :{ maybe a little Oo. but still just another average year

The best one I like is the supposed RPM limit. I have yet hear Gene say how he was going to check RPM, and what is the point, of making a rule if you can't check it, or enforce it. Seems to me just a little Dog and Pony show.

Good news is that I heard ITPA (indiana truck pullers association will pick up the pulls of the indiana super farm association. ) ITPA has a nice set of rules too. 4500 RPM limit and they are at least trying to enforce it.

Actually, we don't have to tell you how we are going to check it.

I have liked this suggestion so far. Require $450 electronically operated air shut-offs on each truck, set to trip at 4501 rpm.

Now that would be a spectacular pull, there, eh? I like it.

Well at least you priced it. Why it has to be an electronically operated air shut off I have no idea, that is a retarded idea!! Must be something Scheid is going to sell and DHRA will require it. I am guessing your referring to my post on dieselplace, but sadly you didn't read the whole post. Any body with half a brain would know you don't have to put the electronics on the truck. You just need the pickup and I would suggest a twisted pair shielded wire, leave the elctronics on the sled. I would explain further, but I have a feeling I am waisting my breath. It will probably be a retarded, meaningless check no load check at the scales which can be easily cheated, just to appease some people. Or worse, a trained ear will listen to the motors as the run down the track. If that is the case you will see alot of mufflers on trucks this year.

WOuld your first name be Chris Csmoke??

just put a tack with memory recall

they use this in midget racing to tell them their rpms. Is mounted out of drivers reach so it can't be reset until checked by tech.

I could see the top ten street trucks in Indiana not runing dhra at all next year.

Thats funny, because an ITPA, non Scheid puller suggested it!!!!

We have been threatened by trucks in Indiana on the internet before, hhhmmm like every year.

Howsoever, if those top 10 trucks from Indiana(did they elect you to speak for them?) do not show, that would leave it wide open for zstrokens poor man class, he wants so badly.

Trucks come and go all the time, no matter what gets said on here.

Bottom line, there will be at least 15 trucks at every pull, taking home some nice purse money, and a points champion at the end of the year.

.

People and sponsors will remember who won, not who sat out, because the rules were not written for their personal truck.

Poor mans class?? LOL what a joke. I could have cared less about the RPM limit. I would have liked to have seen other changes also, but they aren't going to happen. Your the one who lead everyone to believe an RPM limit will be in place. My point is if your going to make a rule, make it something that can be enforced and enfoce it!! Just like the guy at IRP in the street class that had an intake out the headlight. I know that was hard to see, I mean heck the tech probably cut his leg on it measuring the turbo size and all. If you won't enforce the rules, just make it a RWYB class. So what is it? Is there going to be an RPM limit??

And you are right, trucks will come and go, but lets see, 10 good running trucks with lots of puller friends, get tired of certain things decide to organize some pulls, seem to be well run, other people hear about it, they decide to pull, then all of the sudden boom maybe another pulling organization. DHRA is moving to new markets, what do you think the thing in Texas was all about? I hear rumor that some pullers were paid money to go to the event. Like we have all been told before DHRA is a for profit organization, right up there with politicians. I will stop there before I voice anymore of my "retarded" items.

What I was referring too was the air shutoff that Gene was referring too.

they really just want us for the crowds, all they really care about is drag racing since that is what brings outr the sponsers with the big $$$$$$$

By all means zstroken, I encourage you to start your own pulling orginization, and do it the right way, so we have a model to work off of. The more the better.

If enough guys that, it would be start of a great regional series.

The only rule changes being implemented this year, are what the majority of the pullers asked for at SDX, on the phone, and through email. Aside from Super Street, very minor changes.

So RPM limit?? Or do you not know, care, or able to say?
