Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Diablo Sport Power Puck

My Edge EZ quit a couple months ago and I would like to replace it, but I don't really want to spend $400. 00. I saw where I can get the Diablo Sport Power Puck for a lot less. Does anyone have any experience with these, and if so how did you like it? And would it be any harder on the vp44 than the EZ was?

They aren't bad for the price, give about the same maybe a bit less power. It doesn't have quite as much of a "hit" as the EZ but has more of a linear power curve, and it doesn't advance the timing as much. I liked it better than the EZ. If you look around you can find a used one for like $100, also keep an eye out for a van Aaken or older Bullydog box, they are similar boxes.

I had a power puck for about 5 years. I like it till it started making my truck throw a code. I think it was a code for the cam sensor. I bought a sensor but while waiting on it to come in, I unplugged the puck. That cured my problem. I put it back on and got the code again. Never put in the sensor, just bought a used Edge off of here. It works about the same. JC

Yeah, suppose everything goes bad eventually, somehow my EZ got some corrosion in the connector at the map sensor end which caused it to quit working. I would like to get another EZ or a module that has the boost fooling function built into it like the EZ does.

I do remember that Pucks need to be kept in a dry spot that's hopefully not too hot. . . they're not known for being impervious to water.

I just put my EZ on top of the fuse box and I think it stayed dry up there. I had moisture get in one of the connectors somehow, I did notice the little rubber seal didn't fit as tight as the other ones do, so I imagine that is why.
