in the tsb to time a pump it says that 1 revolution of dail indicator is 1 mm and the small one is 10 mm my indicator i got from mac shows 2. 0 and small one is 30 mm

am i reading it ring before i finish timing my pump

your dial indicator shows that in one revolution it is 2. 0mm, when you time your truck, you need to set you dial indicator between 7. 0 and 9. 0 mm of lift, you'll se that reading on the smaller circle, once that is set, follow the procedure to time your truck, bar the engine counter clockwise untill you dial indicator stops dropping, stop! note dial indicator reading, zero you indicator, begin rotating your engine clockwise untill you get the desired amount of lift, the pull pump gear, rotate engine 20-30 deg, counter clockwise to remove gear lash, then rotate engine clockwise back to TDC, make sure dial indicator reading has not changed, push pump gear back onto shaft while aplying a slight counterclockwise turn on gear, this is to remove lash between pump gear and camshaft gear, install new lock washer and nut onto pump using a magnet, becareful not to drop the washer or nut in gear case, torque nut to reccomended spec. of 144 ft. lb. ( i have torqued mine to 150ft. lb. using a new washer and shaft nut), verify that plunger lift is at correct height @ TDC and your done!
