Got my new Dick Cepek 315 FC2's today and can't wait to get them on. I wore out my BFG 315 at's in 24000 miles and will never do back to BFG again. I won't tell you all the price casue you'll be ****** off for the weekend. :D I've been testing tires for Mickey Thompson's offroad program for a long time and couldn't wait to get these.

I think these will wear well and look to have good traction also.

That's funny. I was about to ask why he wasn't happy getting 24k miles out of the BFG's.

I'm going to feel pretty good about getting 24k out of mine, and so far it looks like I'm on track to do that. I think 24k is pretty good for an All Terrain of that height, especially with all the city driving I do.

I've run 50K + on BFG's... seen trucks much heavier than ours go farther. That's why I was surprised... . I've put 40K+ on the BFG MT's!

Personally it kinda seems to me that when bfg when from the M/T to the M/T KM they went with a softer rubber, which wears faster.

I left my tires on for about 8k with out rotating them (I know I should have done it sooner), and the rears were noticably more worn than the fronts, although the fronts looked hardly worn. I've only got about 10k on them so far, so I can't really judge life lenght, but I had a set of the Pre-KM's on my 98 and they seemed to wear more slowly and I got great mileage out of them, not to mention being very hard on them and spinning them alot.

There was enough tires in there for my truck and my dads. I got them mounted on friday and put about 400miles on them this weekend. They handle way better than the bfg's and are super quite. They are load D and the tread is about 5/8 deep. The front BFG's were about half worn but the backs were bald. I tow about every other weekend and got tired of adjusting the pressure every time so they ran a little high when unloaded so that was some of the cause for the wear. But the side wall difference is amazing. These are stiffer and show less squating through the turns. I think these will tow way better , but I will see when I leave for moab in nine days. There was also an article in four wheeler this month and they liked then for there tow rigs also.

I believe that if you spin your tires, and create enough heat, you will change the rubber compound to a harder composition. That may very well explain your longer tire life.

Don't trust what the magazines say in a tire test. There are lots of other variables at work besides tire performance, such as ad dollars spent. There was always LOTS of pressure from the advertising division to never say an unkind word about any products an advertiser offered.

That said, the FCII's are fabulous tires! I've put them on a Wrangler and a Ram. They are as you say -- quiet and beefy. I'm very impressed with these tires.

IROK's are hard to beat on the trail, though.
