Competition Did a DD clutch give you quicker ET's or launch harder in Pulling

Ok I know you can build boost at the line with a Dual Disk clutch. Building boost helps a ton on an auto but how does it do on a manual. I ask because 2nd gear goes by so fast that it doesnt seem to be a problem.



For the guys that drag with manuals and build boost at the line did the boost launch result in a lower ET. Or was it a wash because of the harder to shift qualities of a DD clutch.



Now as far a slead pulling goes did the Dual Dish clutch's ability to build boost before you launch result in better pulls.



I'm saking all of this because I know I can get a single disk to hold the power of my future mods, but the DD is more appealing because of its ability to build boost, and thats all.

A dual disc is the only way to go, you may find a single disc that can hold the power, but it won't handle being slipped like a dual disc can. if you drag race, get a line lock for the front brakes, put a dual disc in it and launch it in third gear.

Yes, it is night and day pulling with a dual disc.

Just remember while sledpulling your not waiting for a certain boost number like say a drag racer with an auto.

You watch your rpm's and maintain them as you start your pull and start to come out.

Just the ability to launch in 3rd gear at high RPM's and drag the clutch out will really lower your ET's (mainly your 60 ft time which really lowers your 1320 ET). 2nd is to low. All you do it tack out and shift to 3rd witch takes some time. I have done many hard 2nd gear launches and a dozen or so soft 3rd gear lauches and it feels so much better to pull the higher gear even at 1500 rpms instead of 3k! My FE has held up well so far but I know it wont take but a couple hard 3rd gear launches. A new Street series DD will be my next clutch.
