Early B-series engine?

Massachusetts emission standards

And low and behold, its a 6BT, NATURALLY ASPIRATED MOTOR!! It was a 55 block, with a VE Pump, rated at 96 HP, with KOMATSU badges in place of where the Cummins Serial Tag is. Kind of neat. . Instead of using some cheap Komatsu Filter, I slapped on a Motorcraft FL896, Approved for use by Cummins, so I know the motor is in good health now! The wierdest part was the Exhaust manifold... It looks like a typical 12 Valve manifold, but the end of it, curves up and just goes straight to pipe, rather than to a turbo. It would be sooooo easy to BOMB one of those little suckers! How cool would that be, having a hot rod Forklift?! It already can light up the tires!!

Have y'all ever seen a Cummins with a different name stamped on it? I know CASE does it, but any others??

you might find one that has a CDC tag on it. . consolidated diesel corperation [the case/cummins joint venture] but most just sport the case or cummins name...

From what I've been told there has been somewhat of a relationship between Komatsu's construction equipment division and Cummins. At first it was Cummins engines being used and then it license built engines and in true East Asian style, copy-catting. There are some Komatsu diesel engines that somewhat resemble smaller Cummins engines. The 6BT just went into the 8k-10k trucks in 99. FD40 or FD45T-7 maybe?
