FYI, I am glad I did it but wanted to let everyone know what I found. It was a 1996 and it was tight as a drum in there. I tabbed it and replaced the crank seal though.

Mine was tight too. But it had still walked out almost 1/8". I drove it almost 1/8" below the surface of the cover.



As tight as mine was, and the fact that it was on the way out, I really think it's a matter of time before they ALL come out!

Doing mine tonight with the jig. One question , can the pin just be removed?

no, from what I understand if it is out it can allow the timing case to shift and change the timing...

The timing change would be minimal. The change in gear centers would be bad. It may also leak.

I tabbed mine this past summer. It was flush, but I'm glad I did it.
