Last night as I returned home from work, I was about to turn left from the main 2-lane road that runs through my meager town. Someone signalled me from the opposite direction at the intersection, and rolled down the window. A woman needed directions to a nearby highway, and I gave them to her.

Without having to turn off the Cummins.

That NEVER would have happened with the 12-valve. Even at idle, I absolutely had to shut it down to talk to someone from the cab or use a drive-thru speaker. But last night, I had no trouble hearing the woman's request, and she had no trouble hearing my answer over the quietly purring 610.

Today is the one month mark for the 05, closing in on 1800 miles. This truck just continues to impress. Everything works, mpg is improving (consistently see 19s and 20s on the highway if my right foot behaves), and the appearance continues to generate approval. Could not be happier... well, payment #1 is due in 2weeks... that will be a monthly reality check :-laf

LOL... my dad said he's pulled up next to cars at traffic lights and if the person had their window down and especially if they were on the cell phone, their window went up real quick. :)

I can see both sides. I love my 04 but really miss the sound of my 02. With the 02 the kids would get off of the street real quick too. :)

I have to say that I like the sound of the older models too. If there was a way to shut off the pilot injection I'm sure people would do it.
