Bought my stuff last week to do the Denny Day Seat Repair discussed in issued 35. Put in two inches of seat foam from Hancock fabrics. Used a carpet sample cut to size. Added a vertical piece of foam to help out the bolster on the left side of the seat where I turn to get out of the truck. Taking my time, the whole thing took about 90 minutes. That included lubing all the power seat functions and reinstalling the seat covers.
Observation: Two inches jacked my 6'3" frame almost to the ceiling and the seat is firm. I have the seat as low as it will go now. My noggin is within a couple of inches of the ceiling. But I like it and it was easy enough to do. Hardest part was getting the J hook loose on the front edge. Everything else was pretty straight forward. I used 3M spray adhesive and everything stayed in place just fine. Like Denny's picture in the TDR, I'm jacked up in my truck now. Before, I couldn't raise the seat completely up and get as high as I am now.
Thanks for the article, Denny. Wish I had decided to do this sooner. It feels great.
