Did The Tsb About The Alt. Pulley , Now It Shuts Off With Out Any Noise At All , None ! 20 Minute Job And It Was Free , Part Was Made In Germany

Sounds like I need to add that one to my list. I also need to get the cab light TSB done. I've got about 2K left on my 36k warranty and trying to wait as long as possible before I take it in. Nothing else ever breaks, so it doesn't get to the dealer.

Alt. Pulley TSB

I took my 2003 in for the cracked alt. bracket and the "belt Chirp" alt. pulley TSB. Out of standard warrantee due to age, only have 23K on it. I have an extended warrantee and the service writer's comment about coverage was "it all depends how it is worded" meaning the repairs. Well it turned out that the warrantee didn't cover any of the repair costs , about $350 parts and labor. I talked to the warantee guy and he said they never cover brackets and the pulley was considered preventive maintence which is not covered. I accept my share of the responsibility and should have checked prior to service but also blame the service writer. I could have gotten the parts for $150 and done the labor myself. I am asking the dealer, Lithia Dodge of Medford Or. to split the difference with me and rebate me $95. I will let you know how things turn out. By the way the pyulley quites the Chirp.

Darn call D. C. with that mileage they ought to jump in. In fact most dealers the service manager can auth. out of time repairs. I just had some work on mine(ac and a flash update)and I have 25k on it it. I asked for a estimate and the service manager OFFERED to handle it with no issues. Said if less then 12 months out on time with the mileage I have it was no biggy. Said he was self approved for such.
