Howdy

I seen a truck for sale on the AutoTrader.com last night on a car lot close to me. It had a picture and all that junk,it was a '93 true FULL 4-door 1-ton 2wd dually. It said it was Cummins powered and all the fancy LE stuff on it. I was wondering if Dodge actually built these trucks up until '93. I thought they stopped in the 70s or 80s sometime. Anyways I'm interested in the truck if I can sell my '93 CC 4x flatbed. I like my truck but I don't really have a use for a flatbed or a 4x,its a daily driver/tow rig for my 4wd truck and things my pappy buys and sells. I like my CC but I need more room for when we go places as a family or all my buddys ride with me. Could you justify driving a full 4 door dually everyday? I'd really only need all the extra room on the weekends. Thanks yall

Well you could say that Dodge did all of it but not in 93. Someone put the pieces of the puzzle together at a later time. Look it over real good and see that the conversion is complete. Nothing hanging here and there. If it is a short bed, it isn't much longer than the club cab LE. It will ride better and will require a bit longer parking spot but those who have built them seem to like them a lot. I have a Dodge crew project in the works. I owned a full length crew chevy with the Cummins and I liked it a lot. I however had a tendency to fill the back seat with useless stuff and had to throw out a bunch every time I need the passenger room.

If the price is right, go for it.

Last year for the Dodge crewcab was 1985. And on the justification of driving a 4door crewcab Dodge Cummins as a daily driver, as StoneCold said, can I get a HELL YEAH!! err or maybe he didnt say that oh well.

The only thing standing in the way of total RAM domination in the truck market is DC's admant refusal to offer a truck with full size 2 row seating. The addition of said option would result in a mass exodus of all but the most die hard blue oval and bow tie drivers.

Ya gotta wonder if DC is using the same market research firm that Ford did for the Edsel.

By the way- - - -

I bought a CTD from TRUCKTRADER. 93 D350 that I am very pleased with. I looked that crewcab up and it looks very good just from the picture. As Bgilbert/Stonecold said "hell yeah" or something close to that. Check it out. These are hard to come by.

Wouldn't mind owning it myself. Make sure the truck matches the price however. I think you could build one for 6k or under if you did the work yourself. 3k for a donor truck, 1k for a crew body, 2k to do the rest. Squeeze under 6k.

Well I called and talked to a feller about the truck and the feller was very nice and knew everything about the truck. He said it was a custom built truck,he said a company that builds stretched trucks built this truck and he said it was done and done right, full four doors etc etc. Said was a one "family" owned truck, grandpaw sold it to a grandson and grandson traded it to this Dodge dealership. So this was what I've heard em called, a true "Cowboy Cruiser" I reckon:p If I can sell my CC flatbed then I'm going to go look at this one. Just figured I'd answer my own question about if they made em '93 and let yall know.

If you tried and couldn't get the ad site, try again. I added some info and you should be able to get to it. It isn't the easiest site to negotiate. Took me several tries and almost quit before I found it. Note some 200k listings. Those guys must be making a killing.

my daily driver is a 78 d-200 4dr utiline (stepside) longbed, @165" w/b it aint tinkerbell but it's manageable and doesnt get lost in a sea of lookalikes in a parking lot. the extra room definitly is worth it's weight, as soon as I get my 5. 9 in order the 318/435 combo is history.

My dad owns the same type of conversion (his is a 92 D350 4dr). The company that did them did a very nice job on them. The only down side to them is that the back 2 doors and roof are fiberglass and the back 2 windows don't go up and down. The inside of them are really nice. If it is like my dad's, the back seat folds down into a bed and EVERYTHING has carpet of some kind on it (makes it a lot more quiet in the cab). If there is anyting you want to know about them just ask and I can answer most questions.

Nice looking pickup, even if it has the wrong transmission. I almost bought a white on kinda similar to that one- I think it was a Western Hauler conversion. 2wd 5spd, 3. 54 dually, full rear seat, two door, though. Cowboy Corral in Longmont CO was asking $12K or so at the time (summer 00), and I just couldnt swing it. Or more like, I wouldnt swing it. They had me approved and all... ... IN hindisght, I wish I had taken it. :( Could have saved me a whole lot of trouble in the long run. .
