I will be getting my 1st diesel, hopefully in a couple months.

I have been regularlly reading this site and others for about a year, and it has been a big help, but now as actual possession approachs, I want to get a Dodge / Cummins 101 care and feeding tutorial. (the FAQ here has good info but is rather limited)

If I can educate myself I won't be asking a 100 silly questions. (just dozens)

Is there an online owners manual I can read before I pickup the truck?

Any suggestions on where to find such information?

I don't know of a free owners manual online, but you can purchase one for your truck from www.techauthority.com .

Are you looking for the owner's manual for the truck, or something about diesel engine theory, or a factory service manual?

You're already reading the single best authority for our trucks by subscribing here.

More about diesel engine operation, fuel, all the stuff that someone that has only had non turbo gas vehicle should know.

I'll get the owner's manual when I pick up the truck, but thought it would be a good start to know that stuff before I start driving it.

I'll pick up a factory service manual, but I am looking for the more basic stuff too.

Sounds like you're more interested in diesel engine theory than the owners manual. The owners manual will give you stuff specific to the truck such as fuse locations and reprogramming the key fob but if you want to understand diesel engines try the library. I'm sure there are online sources as well but I don't know of any..... besides here. Best of luck with your purchase.
