Off Roading Walker Valley flop

Competition Screech Releasing Clutch

I want one of these! It is a newcomer, but it is time to replace my troublesome Polaris Diesel (I am going to keep it as a spare though) and I only am interested in a diesel machine (Of course!). I was searching the internet and came across this one which is already in production in UK. It has a 3-cylinder Yanmar engine (too cool!). I e-mailed them for additional information. I want to purchase myself one and if any of yall are interested, you may want to check it out. I will let you know what else I find out.

By the way, I have been unable to find out anything about the long rumored Arctic Cat/Lomobordini/Roush machine. Everything I find says it is "slated for production" but nobody knows anything about it!!

This 850 seems more interesting to me anyway!

Also, a friend of mine said Diablo has been making motorcycles with a good reputation for years. I will have to check into that. Maybe if there is a dealer here for the cycles, they will be able to get these ATV's too. I definately want one. I sent their company e-mail and will let yall know as soon as I get a reply.

I got an e-mail back from the guy from the Diablo company. I will try to attach a photo of a machine they build for military use in a "sand" climate. I will also include the guy's e-mail who I have been cooresponding with. If any of yall are interested in one of their machines, let me know. I am ready to buy and maybe we could get a "group purchase" deal going...

Here is who I have been dealing with:

Hopefully I can attach an image of the military unit:

I am going to fix it (again!) as a spare. I may consider selling it if I get one of these Diablo machines. I will let you know if I do. I really want this Diablo ATV! Yanmar makes a great engine. The 4-6,000 lb capacity Komatsu forklifts we sell use them and we have air compressors on our service trucks with Yanmar engines. Never had any problem out of any of them. I would love to get a group purchase thing going on some of these machines.

Heck, I'm still trying to find a used Polaris diesel to buy. They are practically non-existent on ebay anymore. It looks like I'm going to have to look into a machine like the one you mentioned above if I'm ever going to get a diesel ATV.

Contact the guy I put a link to above. He said if there is enough intrest, they will bring them to or build them in USA. Looks like a great machine with readily available "off the shelf" parts. I like my Polaris diesel, but it has always been troublesome (engine problems) and is a little underpowered. This new machine uses a more durable engine design which should take care of both issues. I plan to buy one and will let everyone know prices as soon as I know.

Looks like the retail price is $11,338 (USD) at the current exchange rate! I don't see one of these in my future. :{ :-laf

I agree though that this one definitely has a better engine. I wonder about the rest of the quad though - I suppose it all depends on how good the workmanship is.

Hey did you see the "Super Diablo"? It's 1116cc and they claim it will run 60 MPH!

Guys - I edited the retail price on this quad. I glanced at it and assumed it was Euros, but just realized the 6,495 is in British Pounds! That changes things a little!

The guy told me the price pictured is "suggested retail". It would be less than that if it were shipped out and even less in larger quantities. They are working to get a distributer or manufacturing in USA. I want to place mine on the initial order! :D

OK guys help me out,I have been around 4 wheelers all my life and have never seen a diesel. Im not saying they dont make them,I have heard about them, just not seen one. How are they on speed?I assume they have some serious torque. I ride with some guys who have some big quads,im not looking to beat them but i dont want to lose site of them. any info would be great,oh yea for anyone interested check out the last issue of diesel power mag,it has an artical on diesel dirt bikes

PBM,

I have a Polaris Diesel. If you are wanting to run with a 700-800cc machine, I would not recommend a Polaris Diesel. I can keep up with and out run my Yamaha Big Bear 350 at high elevations (9k-12k MSL), but that is about it. A 450cc+ machine will whip me every time.

That being said, I didn't buy it for speed. I am very often in situations where I need extended fuel range and low speed crawling/pulling power. For this purpose, the Diesel works out excellent for me. I can make a top speed of +/-35 MPH according to GPS. It does take a while to get there, however. So far I have had no trouble with mine, though I have had it for a little more than six months. Here are a few threads about them, along with pictures.

John,

That is a neat looking little machine, but out of my reach for now. I spent most of my "toy money" to get the new-to-me '03.

Have you seen the Kubota RTV. Its a ride in style vehicle, like the Polaris ranger or Kawasaki Mule. It has a 3 cylinder diesel motor and hydrastatic trans. Comes in camo or K-Orange. Ive riden it a couple of times and went through creek bottoms and hills that I surprised it could traverse. A little pricey but nice machine.

I have seen and ridden the RTV. It is a nice machine, but way too bulky for what I need. Ground clearance is nowhere near as good as with a ATV either. The engine is similar in size to the Diablo I posted about here. I work and play with a ATV. The RTV is mostly a work vehicle. The neat thing about it is it is exclusively diesel, with no gasser option and last I heard, they were selling all they could make. It is a very well made machine and I love Kubota's, but I want to be able to play too. I have a trailer I hook up for working with my atv, then can just unhook the trailer and go play. Hopefully the diesel atv thing will catch on. I think its timing would be right and with a little advertising (something Polaris failed to do), it could be a big success.

I sent an e-mail asking for prices and shipping on both models. That 1100+ cc machine would be a HOSS!!! I will let yall know as soon as I hear back from them.
