We are doing a retrofit of a 92 CTD w/Auto-OD trans. into a 1986 D-250. Most of the parts are coming from two CTD w/5spd. trucks, (1-4WD, 1-2WD) plus parts shopped from salvage yards, aftermarket, etc. We need a drive shaft. Did the 2WD with auto use a 1piece D/S or a 2 piece w/ center bearing like the 5spd. ? The output of the trans we have looks like it takes a slip yoke for a 1-piece shaft. Anyone have a good shaft to sell? if not I'll have one made.

Any chance the existing shaft from the 360 gas engine / Auto that was original in the truck usable with the diesel?

Thanks, Jack Dancoe

The extended cabs used a 2 piece drive shaft with a center hanger bearing and a slip yoke. Standard cabs should have a one piece with a slip yoke.
