Curious how many people would buy a cruiser styled diesel bike if one was availible in the United States

I was looking at the Hayes site until I noticed the price. Around 19k for a diesel enduro. NOT

It would be nice to have a 3-cly diesel on a bike. Would only need around 15 to 20 hp. My 3-cyl 32 horse Ford 2810 tractor would be too large and it only turns 2500 rpm. I know its the high torque that allows for the slow rpm's. 3-cyl would be smoother.

I've been checking out the Suzuki Burgman 650.

what i was thinking would be ideal is the old tdi vw diesels, the mechanical kind. around 50 hp and I "think" small enough it would fit in some of the larger cruisers. not to mention of the shelf parts availible.

Those HDT bikes are SLOW. Did anyone read the performance section? Like 9. 7 sec for 0-60 times, and 10. 4 for the other diesel bike! Can you imagine, starting from a stop, turning to check out the sweet cloud of smoke you just left, and having a honda spree smoke YOU!!!! :)

There is one becoming availible in the UK. Anybody ever see their website? that one is the ultimate one. 3cyl common rail, turbo, Classic cruiser styling, 0-60 in under 5 seconds, top speed of around 130mph. Darn, if I could only find that link again.

I did find this link. Neander 1400 Turbo Diesel Motorcycle Test & Review - Motorcycle Cruiser. not the one I was looking for but somewhat like it.

Edit

I found the link, Neander - Motors - Dieselmotor Its the same brand as the above link, but the bike looks different. very cool imo.

MEby- That is a cool bike! Hopefully they will start to get some regular production numbers someday. 250 worldwide- Maybe if I was Jay Leno I might be able to get my hands on one! I don't care for the bike so much as the engine. The twin cranks and two con rods per cyl is a pretty cool idea! Bet that motor will outlast my cummins! :)

If I read the website correctly, It looks like the motors would be availible to buy seperatly. maybe I could get one to install in my shadow.

I saw one three years ago at the Special Operations Forces show in Tampa. It was a multi-fuel engine that would run on diesel or jet fuel. Turbocharged and everything. It was built for rugged terrain and scarce fuel.
